In March of 1995, Jeju Special Self-governing Province Development Corp. was established not only to promote welfare of residents in Jeju but also to prevent any thoughtless development of underground water in the island, developing the local society efficiently.

The birth of Jeju Samdasu in March, 1998 As unyieldingly maintaining the first position for the 10th consecutive year in the drinkable spring water PET market, Jeju Samdasu is confidently placing its name on the list of the 100 brands in Republic of Korea.

Jeju Special Self-governing Province Development Corp. is proud ofthe truly affluent underground water supplies in Jeju, an island comprised of gigantic volcanic rocks caused by more than 110 volcanic eruptionsAs the water gets purified via his natural filter, basalt, all sorts of impurities are completely eliminated, and that is what makes the water taste even softer and purer.

Jeju Samdasu, collected from a green area, 420m below the ground, is actually produced at a plant which is capable of producing this drinkable water as much as 1.26 million ton every year.

Plus, because the plant is equipped with the automated production system and the PET bottle manufacturing facilities, the Jeju Samdasu brand can lower the cost of the production throughout the whole process.

Jeju Samdasu which has achieved all those fruitful results by conducting thorough but also creative management is now considered both a treasure in Jeju and a future of the island.

Jeju Samdasu is certainly the water of Jeju, and a proper amount of minerals included in this water efficiently improves the immunity level and atopic dermatitis.

In 2011, Jeju Special Self-governing Province Development Corp. started supplying the products to large discount stores only directly, making positive changes in the distribution network, and that way, it increased an annual profit up to five billion won.

In addition, concluding contracts with eight more new agencies in South Korea,Jeju Special Self-governing Province Development Corp. raised the share ratio up to 40~49%, reducing the distribution costs and others and, that led the corp. to a hance to increase an annual profit by 1.8 billion won.

In terms of the domestic distribution of Jeju Samdasu, at first, only two agencies were working exclusively with the brand but now, it is working five agencies in total and, as Jeju Samdasu supplies the products immediately, the products are raded at a price even lower than before.

During the busy season in summer, in order to resolve problems caused by short supply, it increased the daily water intake amount up to 3,700 ton which used to be 2,100 ton on average.

As a result, the sales of Jeju Samdasu improved only satisfactorily.

Not only that, the exports of the water to the overseas markets increased approximately by three times and, it gave Jeju Special Self-governing Province Development Corp. an honor to win this three million dollar export tower.

Other than the Jeju Samdasu business, both the tangerine business and the orchid business cut down the cost of the production greatly but improved the productivity, and that helped the two businesses run only properly.

In addition, in order to preserve underground water systematically but also to conduct researches on water business professionally, Jeju Special Self-governing Province Development Corp. opened a water business research center, building Jeju water promotion hall as well as Jeju industrial complex of lava and seawater.

Jeju Special Self-governing Province Development Corp. has been working on so many projects only for a brighter future of Jeju.

In 2013, a premium brand, ‘Hallasu’, was launched.

This passion of Jeju Special Self-governing Province Development Corp. for the product innovation helped the corp. launch a local premium beer, ‘Jespi’, and it is now increasing profits of the barley farming business in the island, vitalizing the regional economy.

As working on the sharing management, Jeju Special Self-governing Province Development Corp. has grown as a company for residents in Jeju and,it returned approximately 57% of the net profit to those living in the island.
