JPDC is a local public corporation, created through an investment by the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province in 1995 for the purpose of promoting the welfare of Jeju’s residents and contributing to development of local communities.
The flagship JPDC brand is ‘Jeju Samdasoo,’ bottled clean groundwater from Jeju Island. Jeju Samdasoo has been the unrivalled market leader in Korea since its launch in 1998.
JPDC is also engaged in processing and selling mandarin concentrate to increase the competitiveness of the mandarin industry on Jeju. Yet another brand, JESPI, is a local beer which uses Jeju barley as its main ingredient.
Aiming to address housing and environmental issues, JPDC actively participates in public projects such as development of public housing and public aggregate. Committed to giving back to society, JPDC offers the Tamra Talent Dormitory, share-houses, and a scholarship foundation designed to cultivate local talent. It also takes part in environmental protection efforts, with one example being the improvement of restrooms around Hallasan Mountain.
